3. Collaborate overseas:
My students communicated with students in South Korea:
My students also partnered with students in the United Arab Emirates. Emirati students shared their photos along with facts about themselves. My students had to try and match the facts to the photos. This generated a meaningful conversation about making assumptions and stereotypes while also demonstrating the similarities with students across the globe.
4. Create digital brochures about your hometown. My students created some about their home state of New Jersey to share with students in South Korea!
5. Help organize a community-wide fundraiser like "Celebrity Chef":
This event was a fundraiser hosted by our school's Roots & Shoots program to support students in Kenya and Tanzania to continue their education. Our staff, students, and their families shared their culinary skills while attendees sampled the food and rewarded their favorite dishes with monetary tips. All of the tips went to supporting the education of our students in Kenya and Tanzania.
Video from the event!
Participants shared their answers to:
"Why is keeping your culture alive important to you?"

6. Students create "resumes" and hold interviews with professionals in diverse fields.

7. Organize collections for international causes. This video is from our collection after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
